The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the November 2024 payment dates for social grants and old age grants will be paid out first.

SASSA OLD AGE GRANT PAYMENT DATES FOR NOVEMBER 2024

SASSA distributes grants and allowances to disadvantaged people who require financial assistance in South Africa.

Beneficiaries can receive SASSA payments from selected supermarkets, such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers, and Shoprite. They can obtain this through their SASSA card, CashSend, or by getting the amount directly transferred into their bank account.

If you are a beneficiary or know of someone who is, you may be wondering when the relevant grant payments will be made.

Older persons and their associated grants will be paid first on Tuesday, 5 November, followed by disability grants and child grants on the dates as below:

  • Older Persons/ Pensioners Grant: Tuesday, 5 November
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 6 November
  • All other Grants: Thursday, 7 November

ICYMI: INCREASES COME INTO EFFECT

The South African previously reported that SASSA grants increase twice annually; in April and in October. Here’s how much beneficiaries will now receive until the next budget speech in February 2025:

  • SASSA Old Age Grants beneficiaries (aged 60 to 74) will receive R2 190. This is a R10 increase from the previous month and equates to a R100.
  • Likewise, SASSA pensioners aged 75 and older will see their 2024 SASSA grant increase to R2 210. This also represents a R10 increase, which rounds up to R100.
  • The SASSA Disability grant goes up by a further R10 to R2 190. As does SASSA Child Care Dependency – which is effectively disability care for children – by R10 to R2 190. The same R10 to R2 190 bump applies to SASSA War Veterans, too.
  • SASSA Child Support is unchanged at R530. As is Child Support Top Up of R250.
  • SASSA Foster Care remains unchanged at R1 180.
  • SASSA SRD remains unchanged at R370.
