POLOKWANE: A 25-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment after raping a 64-year-old woman Donkey-Stop village under Zaaiplaas policing area, Limpopo.
The Groblersdal Regional Court sentenced the accused, Abram Tobani Makubela, on Tuesday, 13 May 2025. Makubela was also given an additional 15-year sentence for housebreaking to rob, including robbery with aggravating circumstances.
MAN GETS LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE
The court reported that the 64-year-old victim was at home with her partner when she heard a window breaking. Out of nowhere, Makubela entered her bedroom on 4 December 2023 at around 00:30 in the morning.
The accused started demanding money from the victim, reminding her that he saw her buying alcohol at a tavern. Out of fear, the victim told the accused that the money was under a tablecloth.
