Wright Ngubeni to host new reality show
Wright Ngubeni is the host of a new reality show Umkhonto Ogwaza Ekhaya coming to Mzansi Magic this February.
The reality series where couples who are related (i.e. cousins, aunt/uncle, etc) and are in a romantic relationship seek approval from their family.
The trailer of the show has been released and it’s sparked a stir on social media.
A social media user commented, “Since when is this normal? What is our culture coming to? SA and adopting western behaviours.”
Another wrote, “I’m disturbed but I’ll definitely be watching.”
An X user wrote, “We have to be honest about these reality shows at some point. They are all rubbish, promoting amanyala and all, taking black people a step backward. It’s a shame that even old people are always glued to their screens watching them with their kids.”
The first season of the reality show premiere on Sunday, 9 February at 19:30.
