New Kaizer Chiefs star wanted in Europe

Kaizer Chiefs could lose a major player much earlier than anyone expected.

RUSHWIN DORTELY TO LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS?

The 22-year-old central defender joined Amakhosi in August from Cape Town Spurs. With just four Betway Premiership games and one in the Carling Knockout, Soccer Laduma believes an unnamed club in Russia want to sign Dortley from Kaizer Chiefs.

The report says the club followed Dortely since his days at Spurs and are now making a move after watching his at Kaizer Chiefs and in Bafana Bafana colours.

“From what the club is saying, the interest was there even when he was at Cape Town Spurs and the club in Russia is just following up on that,” an insider told the outlet.

“Yes, they have inquired about him, but with coach Nasreddine Nabi having so much belief and trust in him, I don’t think anything could happen soon. It will take a lot from the Russian team to convince Chiefs to sell Dortley at this point, but I can tell you the interest and inquiry has been there.

“As much as he is doing very well for the club, the European team interested in him are more impressed with his national team performance. Not just in these recent games but also during the COSAFA Cup with coach Helman Mkhalele. So they have been monitoring him for some time now,” the report concluded on the Kaizer Chiefs defender from Belhar, Cape Town.

REMAINING OPTIONS IN CENTRAL DEFENCE

Meanwhile, should Amakhosi possibly lose Dortely, the club’s central defence will be left with Inacio Miguel, Given Msimango, Thatayaone Dithlokwe and Zitha Kwinika.

SHOULD KAIZER CHIEFS DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP DORTLEY OR CASH IN ON THE TRANSFER?
