Ndimande brothers making life difficult for NPA

The Ndimande brothers accused of killing rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane are continuing to contest plans for their extradition to South Africa.

The two were arrested in Eswatini by members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) while hiding in an apartment they had rented in Zone 4, Mbabane last year.

AKA and Tibz were brutally murdered in February 2023 on Florida Road at Wish Restaurant in Durban. Five other suspects, believed to have been involved in the shooting, have been arrested and have appeared in court multiple times.

Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande are fighting an extradition order that would return them to South Africa to face charges. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has applied for them to be extradited, but their defense argues that the siblings cannot return to their home country due to fears for their safety as per IOL.

In August of last year, the State requested a lengthy postponement to await the outcome of the extradition application in Eswatini concerning the Ndimande brothers. The Siblings will appear before court again later this month.

The other five men arrested in connection with the killing of AKA are Lindokuhle Thakani, Lindani Ndimande, Eddie Myeza, Muzi Gwabeni, and Lindo Ndimande. They face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, five counts of attempted murder, and money laundering.

All of the men remain in custody and are expected to appear before the Durban High Court on 8 May when the case resumes.
