What was once a dynamic duo united in taking on the rest of the world, from the comfort of one of the most powerful offices in the world, appears to be crumbling, as U.S President Donald Trump and Elon Musk have a public tiff, inciting break-up rumours.
Early 2025 saw Donald and South African-born billionaire Elon join forces against their dissatisfaction with South Africa’s leadership, citing their lack of proactive action when it comes to what they believed was a ‘white genocide’ in South Africa, where white farmers were being disproportionately targeted at alarming rates. As a result, Donald’s administration saw some Afrikaners migrating to the United States to escape these brutal killings.
According to some Donald supporters, this partnership between Elon and their leader was what they deemed the ultimate dream team, as they expressed belief in their ideas for bringing about transformation regarding the inefficiency they believed plagued their government. On the other hand, the opposing side expressed concern over the stability and foundation of the partnership

Among various other groups, the duo received immense opposition and backlash among a significant group of South African citizens who criticised them, Elon specifically, for pushing a false and dangerous narrative based on propaganda and disinformation. A majority of this opposition predicted the inevitable split of the duo, citing various reasons, including conflicting interests in the long run.
It appears that these hopes and predictions have come to fruition sooner rather than later, as the duo seems to have a difference in opinions, as Donald took to the media to express disappointment in Elon for voicing his disapproval of the infamous spending bill.
According to Donald, Elon’s reaction is a result of the bill’s elimination of federal electric vehicle incentives, which significantly affect his billion-dollar Tesla company negatively.

In a separate post, Elon revealed that he believes his once-close partner would have never won the election without his intervention, and would have seen their opposition, the Democrats, controlling the White House, adding fuel to the breakup rumours that are already circulating on social media.
He then went on to drop an even bigger bomb by not only calling for Donald’s impeachment, but revealing that the real reason the infamous Epstein files have not been released is because Donald’s name is on them, leaving the public shocked and dying for more answers.
