Kaizer Chiefs are linked with three strikers in the latest round of transfer rumours. One of them goes by the name of Musona.

Kaizer Chiefs linked with three strikers as the January window approaches

Walter Musona

Zimbabwe claimed a 3-1 over Namibia in their most recent Afcon Group J qualifier. That follows a 1-0 win in Orlando over the same opponents. In the 3-1 victory, Walter Musona scored twice to steer his side to a critical three points. Walter is the brother of former Kaizer Chiefs star Knowledge Musona. Walter is currently on the books of Simba Bhora FC. Amakhosi were linked with a swoop for Walter in the latter stages of 2023 but nothing materialized in their chase for the former Polokwane City marksman.

Michael Olunga

30-year-old Michael Olunga bagged a hat-trick in the first match of this season’s Qatar Stars League. In his entire club career, he’s scored a stunning tally of 188 goals in 250 matches. In his last 61 league matches in Qatar, he’s scored a ludicrous 62 goals. No matter who you’re playing for, a scoring rate of more than a goal per game is absurd.

Olunga has played for Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, Swedish side Djurgardens, Spanish LaLiga’s Girona, Chinese outfit Hengfeng, Kashiwa Reysol from Japan’s J-League and Qatari club Al-Duhail SC. To say he’s Kenya’s greatest is probably an understatement, but perhaps brother duo Victor Wanyama and McDonald Mariga would like a word. Chiefs are considering an ambitious move for the man valued at R180 million, but his wage demands and signing-on fee will likely be prohibitive.

Are Chiefs plotting an audacious move for the Kenyan legend?

Clement Mzize

According to SoccerLaduma, Chiefs have shifted their attention to another Young Africans striker after their pursuit of Fiston Mayele hit a dead end and he moved to Pyramids FC in Egypt. The man in question is 20-year-old Tanzanian forward Clement Mzize. Born in 2004, Mzize has one cap for Tanzania earned in September 2023.

Which of these strikers should Amakhosi pursue in the upcoming January window?
