Talented actor Msizi Njapha, is bidding farewell to Mzansi Magic’s popular telenovela Umkhokha: The Curse.

MSIZI: ‘I WAS NOT FIRED’

According to Daily Sun, the actor who portrays the character of Khulekani Mthembu on the show has confirmed his departure. Njapha refuted claims that he was axed.

This follows after ZiMoja reported last week that three top actors from the show, including Njapha and his on-screen wife Angel Zuma, who portrayed Nomkhosi, along with Kwanele Mthethwa, who played Nobuntu, were given the boot from the show.

The actors were reportedly fired due to poor conduct and diva tendencies on set. Njapha told Daily Sun that he was not sacked from the production, but his storyline had simply come to a draw.

“I didn’t leave or get fired. I had a great time on the show, and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity and the growth it brought about. But the story of my character had to come to an end. It’s Umkhokha at the end of the day. Death is the centre of the story,” he said.

FANS REACT TO HIS EXIT

On Tuesday, the actor expressed his gratitude to Mzansi for the support on his Instagram account as his role had come to an end.

He wrote, “Thank you Mzansi.”

His departure has left his fans heartbroken, however, many have paid tribute to him for his impressive acting talent and they have wished him the best of luck in his future endevours.
