Mohale Motaung has revealed that he would still like to get married amid Mzansi’s much-loved couple Rachel and Siya Kolisi announcing the end of their eight-year marriage on Wednesday.

MOHALE IS READY TO GIVE MARRIAGE ANOTHER TRY

The actor and influencer who got married to media personality Somizi Mhlongo in 2019 and got divorced in 2023, shared on X that he still wishes to get married. This follows the announcement of the separation of Rachel and Siya Kolisi, the first family of the Springboks.

The couple’s divorce broke many hearts and sparked an intense online debate about the merits of marriage.

Mohale replied to an X user who asked if his followers were still interested in marriage. He shared a clip from Khumbulekhaya, which featured Rosalia, who appeared on the show after her sister had written to it to help them reconcile.

In the video, Rosalie can be heard saying “ha monate jwang,” which means “so sweet,” implying that he still wants to get married.

SIYA AND RACHEL DROP A BOMBSHELL

On Tuesday, 22 October, Siya and Rachel Kolisi announced their divorce in a joint statement, explaining that they reached this decision after “much reflection and open conversations”.

“We have mutually decided to end our marriage. This decision comes from a place of love, respect and understanding that this is the best path forward for both of us.

“While our relationship as a couple is changing, we remain great friends and committed partners in raising our children with the same love and care they’ve always known.

RACHEL AND SIYA TO CONTINUE WORKING TOGETHER

Despite their impending divorce, the two have agreed to keep working together on the Kolisi Foundation.

“We will also continue working together on the Foundation that means so much to us.

“We are grateful for the love, understanding and support you’ve shown us and we kindly ask for your respect as we navigate this transition,” the statement reads.

Siya and Rachel got married in March 2016 and have two children: a son named Nicholas Siyamthanda, born in 2015, and a daughter named Keziah, born in 2017.

In 2014, Siya adopted his half-siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, who are the children of his mother who passed away in 2009.
