The road to the Miss South Africa 2025 crown has officially begun, with applications now open and set to close next week Friday, 11 April at 18:00.

This year’s competition comes with a significant shift in eligibility, offering more women the opportunity to step into the spotlight.

For the first time, the age limit has been extended, allowing hopefuls between the ages of 20 and 32 (as of 30 August 2025) to enter.

Previously, contestants were only allowed to turn 30 during their reigning year. The move signals a more inclusive approach to who gets to wear the crown.

In addition, the competition continues to welcome women from all walks of life—trans women, married women, and mothers are all encouraged to apply.

Notably, there are no restrictions when it comes to height or weight, underscoring the pageant’s evolving commitment to diversity and authenticity.

Aspiring contestants can apply by completing the online application form, accessible via the Miss South Africa app or the official website at www.misssa.co.za. Along with the form, applicants must upload a compulsory entry video on their personal social media platforms.

A helpful step-by-step “How to Enter” video will be released across all Miss SA digital platforms to guide applicants through the process.

Reigning Miss South Africa, Mia le Roux, offered words of encouragement to those thinking of entering, reflecting on the transformative nature of the journey.

“This journey will really challenge you to explore who you are and what you stand for. And if you embrace the journey fully, you will come out knowing yourself so much better, whether you take the crown or not,” she shared.

She stressed the importance of being genuine and informed, encouraging applicants to lean into their individuality.

“Your voice can be a vehicle for change… You are allowed to be human, and it’s okay if you don’t always have the answers to everything, as long as you show that you are completely at peace with who you are and that you are always willing to learn,” she added.

As always, the public will get a front-row seat to the excitement and drama through Crown Chasers, the reality TV series that documents the contestants’ journey.

Season 4 promises even more, with a reunion episode airing after the finale for the first time in the show’s history.
