Since joining Kaizer Chiefs’ senior team, he has had his fair share of brilliance with the Soweto giants.

Mfundo Vilakazi, who Kaizer Chiefs tied down with a long-term contract, is trending after his old video praising Mamelodi Sundowns surfaced online.
Thanks to his huge social media following, the video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped online.
In the now-viral video, he was asked about his favourite team in the league and revealed that it was Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mfundo Vilakazi also mentioned that Keagan Dolly was his favourite player. The Kaizer Chiefs star also hopes to play for European giants PSG.
The circulating video was recorded during his stint with Doornkop Students Football Club.
After all, he joins a host of stars who switched the floor regarding football teams they support after becoming senior players.
In recent years, he has made it known that it has always been his dream to star for Kaizer Chiefs. Mfundo Vilakazi came through the youth academy ranks and has been making a name for himself.
LONG-TERM CONTRACT
After his two first-team appearances, the 18-year-old was tied down by Kaizer Chiefs with a long-term deal. Mfundo Vilakazi’s contract will end in June 2028.
Mfundo Vilakazi has since wowed Kaizer Chiefs fans with his moments of brilliance this season. The Kaizer Chiefs star was also part of the 2024 Cosafa U20 Championships squad.
He has since become the darling of many fans, and some have lauded him as the next big star from Kaizer Chiefs.
CAREER
Mfundo Vilakazi reportedly started his career with Zola Seven Stars under Coach Skhumbuzo, affectionately known as Zola 7.
However, he also starred for Doornkop Students Football Club before settling at Kaizer Chiefs Youth Academy. Mfundo Vilakazi had his shot to fame in 2023; the rest was history.
After being promoted from the Kaizer Chiefs reserve team, Mfundo made his professional debut in February 2024.
In March, he made his second first-team appearance in a Premier Soccer League tie, the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.
