MEGAN THEE STALLION’S NEW DOCUMENTARY

The Houston rapper, held back tears as she took to the stage at the premiere of her new documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words.

The film, now available on Prime Video, gives fans a deeper glimpse into Megan’s life, her struggles, and her strength, according to Variety.

At the Los Angeles premiere, Megan addressed the crowd at the TCL Chinese Theatre with a raw honesty.

MEGAN THEE STALLION VS MEGAN PETE

She explained why she chose to participate in a project that peels back the image of Megan Thee Stallion. She revealed Megan Pete, the woman behind the stage name.

“I started to watch a lot of people dehumanise me,” she shared, her voice filled with emotion. “A lot of people were trying to take control of my narrative and tell my story.

So that’s why I even agreed to do the documentary in the first place. Let me just tell my truth and lay it out on the table.

I was trying to be a cookie-cutter celebrity, but it didn’t work out. I am a real goddamn hot girl coach. So y’all are about to experience Megan Pete for the first time.”

MEGAN THEE STALLION’S LOSS

In 2019, Megan faced unimaginable grief when she lost both her mother and grandmother within a month, according to BET.

Her mother, Holly Thomas, was also a rapper who went by the name ‘Holly-Wood.’

“I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without Holly Thomas,” Megan said with pride.

“My mum told me not to tell my own business, but I think this was the perfect opportunity to go ahead and tell my business.”

THE DOCUMENTARY

The documentary, directed by Nneka Onuorah, captures intimate moments that the public has rarely seen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans will see Megan navigating her mental health, dealing with social media scrutiny. She was handling the pressures of being in the public eye. Above all, the film highlights her resilience.

Getting Megan to trust the process wasn’t easy, according to Onuorah. “I have been giving Nneka hell for the past three goddamn years,” Megan admitted, laughing.

AN INTIMATE LOOK

Initially, she resisted the idea of a documentary. “When they first came to me and said, ‘We’re about to make a documentary about you,’ I said, ‘No, we’re not.’”

Despite her initial reluctance, Megan eventually allowed Onuorah and the film crew into her world.

“I earned her trust because I gave her my time and effort. She saw that I wasn’t there for the Megan Thee Stallion,” Onuorah explained.

“A lot of the movie I shot… in her car, in her home, any intimate setting. I stayed with her through the process.”

DARKER SIDES OF FAME

The 112-minute documentary doesn’t shy away from the darker sides of fame. It touches on the infamous 2020 shooting incident involving rapper Tory Lanez.

She also touched on the relentless online harassment Megan endured. At one point, Megan addresses her loyal fanbase directly.

“My last message is, hotties, I don’t give a f* what the hate campaign says. I don’t give a f* what they’re talking about on the internet.

I’m doing real s***, and y’all are real people, and I’m a real person, and I’m just grateful to have y’all as my real supporters.”

RAW AND UNFILTERED

Megan Thee Stallion’s new documentary provides a raw, unfiltered look at a woman who has become a global icon.

And while the world knows Megan Thee Stallion, it’s finally time to meet Megan Pete.

The film reveals a more vulnerable side of the rapper—an inspiring figure who, despite her challenges, remains a symbol of strength and authenticity.
