Ex-Baroka FC coach Matsemela Thoka has shared details about his recent move to Ngwaabe City Motors in the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League.
Thoka joined City Motors about two weeks ago following the club’s poor start to the new season.
City Motors endured four straight losses in their opening matches, which saw the club languish at the bottom of the Stream B table.
As a result, the side succumbed to a decision to rope in the former Marumo Gallants DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] coach to save the sinking ship.

In an exclusive interview with FARPost, Thoka acknowledged that, like everyone else, he was searching for a job and was fortunate enough to be offered a job at City Motors.
Thoka has been unemployed since cutting ties with the Moroka Swallows DDC team earlier this year.
“To be honest with you, it was about football hunting. I was hunting like everybody else who is looking for a job,” said Thoka.
“So, fortunately, when I applied at City Motors, I found out that they were happy with my CV as they were looking for a coach.
“From there on, they wanted me to meet with them, and we were able to meet and reach an agreement.

Thoka went on to explain how he was able to change the team’s fortunes, having secured back-to-back wins since taking over the reins.
“I think City Motors is one of those teams that can compete. So, when I got there, I found a team that had lost four matches in a row. But when I looked at the players on my first day of training, I saw good players, and I couldn’t understand how they had lost four matches in a row,” he added.
“But I noticed that some of the issues are not because the coach is not doing the right things, but due to other factors from outside that affect the players’ performance.
“We then sat down with the players and told them that I don’t have any miracles to bring to this team. But what we can do is work together and make sure the team collects points in the coming games.”
Thoka continued: “With the team that I have seen here, I don’t think it’s a team that can struggle and lose four games in a row.”
City Motors are currently in sixth place in Stream B of the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, having accumulated six points from six matches.
