CHANEL BRINK SHARES THREE MUST-LEARN DISHES

MALVA PUDDING

“The first dish that I believe you should know how to make is a malva pudding. If ever you are invited to a family gathering or have guests over and you want to impress them, a malva pudding would be your best bet. Its so customisable. You can add in some chai spices and turn it into a chai spiced malva. Or layer it with cream, fruit and custard for a malva pudding trifle,” she said exclusively to The South African.

ROAST CHICKEN

“The second dish that is a must in the kitchen is roast chicken. Its an absolute show stopper to present a whole roasted chicken to your family on a Sunday surrounded by a variety of side dishes. The best part is that if there are any leftovers, you can use it to make a delicious roast chicken sandwich, a roast chicken pie or even a pasta,” she continued.

POTATO SALAD
“Lastly you need to have a good potato salad mastered. South africa is the home of the braai and there is always a potato salad featured on the braai table but that doesnt mean you have to stick to potato and mayonnaise. You can play around with flavours and add in some pesto for that lovely herbaceous flavour, if you like heat add in some chilli oil which will also bring out a delicious umami flavour in your potato salad or make it decadent with crispy bacon bits,” she added.
