Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’ lights up London

Marvel fever swept through London’s Leicester Square last night as the European premiere of Thunderbolts brought a galaxy of stars to the black and yellow carpet.

Marvel will release this blockbuster in cinemas on 2 May, and it promises audiences a wild ride with Marvel’s most unconventional team yet.

THUNDERBOLTS ON THE YELLOW CARPET

Florence Pugh, dazzling in a sheer gown, led the charge as Yelena Belova. She told the crowd, “It’s incredible to be part of a team that’s so messy, so human.

Pedro Pascal appeared at the Thunderbolts European premiere in London. The actor said, “I’m thrilled to see Marvel fans from Joburg to Cape Town get behind this film”

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays the scheming Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, turned heads on the carpet. “This premiere is electric. The energy here is just brilliant!” she exclaimed, according to Forbes.

THUNDERBOLTS SHOW LOVE TO THE FANS

David Harbour, ever the showman as Red Guardian, even posed with a cosplayer dressed as his character. “It’s all about the fans. They make these moments unforgettable.”

The film unites a ragtag crew of antiheroes: Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and Red Guardian (David Harbour).

Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and John Walker (Wyatt Russell) also appear in the film..

RAG TAG HEROES

Their mission? Survive a deadly trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and confront the darkest corners of their pasts.

“Will the Thunderbolts tear each other apart, or unite and find redemption?” That’s the question on everyone’s lips.

Director Jake Schreier was joined by stars Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Wendell Pierce.

They posed for group photos, while Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) and Nathalie Emmanuel (of Fast and Furious fame) added extra sparkle to the event.

THE MARVEL UNIVERSE

Thunderbolts is Marvel’s second major release of 2025, following Captain America: Brave New World in February.

Fantastic Four: First Steps lands in cinemas on 25 July, so the superhero action isn’t slowing down.

As Florence Pugh put it, “This film is about second chances. It’s wild, it’s funny, and it’s got heart.
