While the future of the KwaZulu-Natal based football team hangs in balance, one thing is certain, there most loyal fan Joy Chauke, affectionately known as Mama Joy does not plan on going anywhere.

Things have been going from bad to worse for the prominent footballing club. This comes after the club has had to postpone their PSL match against Chippa United following internal disputes. Several online media publications including, The South African and the Kick Off, reported that players of the club have refused to return to the club for training following the festive break after the club has failed to pay their salaries.

This issue is just one of the many hurdles that the club and its owners has had to face in recent months. Last year club owner Shawn Mkhize had her house raided and several assets seized by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) due to R40 million unpaid taxes.

Meanwhile, IOL reports that this is not the first time the club has unable to stick to the stipulation of their contract with a player. Last year FIFA banned the club from signing new players after they struggled to pay R15 million owed to striker Samir Nurkovic.

Despite having moved from Orlando Pirates back to Royal AM, Mama Joy assured the public that she intends on remaining loyal to the club and its owners.

Taking to Twitter, the avid sports lover shared a post which clearly stated her stance when it comes to the club.

Meanwhile, in an interview with football publication Kick Off, she said: “I didn’t start following the club for money, I wanted change. People might claim the custard is finished at Royal AM, but I won’t go back to Pirates. I am still 100% committed to Thwihli Thwahla.”
