Magesi FC head coach Clinton Larsen has addressed perception held by some top-tier teams that playing his side would be effortless.
The Limpopo outfit earned promotion this season after finishing at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship last year.
Dikwena tša Meetse have made a strong impression lately, winning four and drawing three of their last seven matches across all competitions.
Their recent victory over Richards Bay FC secured them a place in the Carling Knockout Cup final where they will face off against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speaking to the media after the match, Larsen said they’re slowly changing people’s minds about the abilities of their team.
He believes that many had underestimated them, assuming they would readily concede points, similar to Cape Town Spurs, who spent only one season in the Premiership before returning to the lower division.
He feels that their performances have challenged these perceptions.

“You remind me of the Betway Premiership launch when Thomas asked and said every team that looks at Magesi looks at free three points, but we are slowly changing people’s minds that we are not that easy to beat,” he said.
“Maybe they are comparing us to what happened to Cape Town Spurs the other season; maybe that is the reason why people thought that way.
“But like I said, my job is to try and get this team as organised as possible and to make them as difficult to beat as possible, and I think we are on the right track.”
