With the world resuming back to its normal schedule many are putting plans in place for the return to work, school and fulfilling their usual daily responsibilities.
While many of these tasks are highly important and duties that need to be taken care of, this does not mean that you have to abandon your opportunity to have fun entirely – after all, it is still summer and this only comes around once a year, which is why it is extremely important to make full use of these sunny days for as long as possible.
While we continue to celebrate the festive season, it is worth noting that there are a wealth of entertainment events taking place in various parts of the country that will ensure that you and your family make this year an adventurous one filled with memories that will last a lifetime.
If you are keen on making the most of this summer season, then you are at the right place.
Here are some events you can visit no matter where in the country you find yourself:
Calabash South Africa
If music is what you are into then the Calabash South Africa experience is the one for you. Following a successful concert which previously featured American pop group Maroon 5 and local music sensation Will Linely, the concert sees yet another return in 2025. One of the headliners for this year is the British singer Robbie Williams and Green Day.
The event takes place in both Johannesburg and Cape Town from 19th, 22nd and 23rd January.
Keyshia Cole Live in SA
If you are a big fan of the American singer Keyshia Cole, then you need to get yourself ready for a singalong. This comes as the Trust and Believe hitmaker is set to grace South African audiences with a powerful voice, taking fans on a nostalgic ride while performing some of her greatest hits. Keyshia is set to have performances in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town on the 24th, 25th and 26 of January 2025.
Rugby URC
While there will be no shortage of musical festivals, you can surely trade your dance shoes for a bit of local support by watching South Africa’s rugby teams, the Stormers, Sharks, Blue Bulls, and Lions represent the nation as well as their city in this year’s United Rugby Championship competition. This far a South African team has reached the finals in all three seasons since the competition was launched and would be looking to claim yet another trophy.
It is an excellent time to head to the stadium and see your bok heroes like Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth, Damian Willemse, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and many others in action.
