Cyril Ramaphosa’s possible successor as ANC president, Paul Mashatile, received a frosty reception on Tuesday in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, while doing door-to-door campaigning.
In full view of cameras, the ANC deputy president and his entourage were ordered by an enraged man to leave a Khayelitsha house, with the man shouting that Mashatile and his people had not allowed him to enter his “mother’s house”.
Mashatile: Cape Town offers cold welcome
“All of you must leave my house! Leave my mother’s house… all of you! They must leave!” the incensed man – while holding a baby – tells Mashatile and crew.
Mashatile, who is also the South Africa’s deputy president can be seen in footage next to a woman, presumed to the aforementioned mother.
As a minor scuffle between Mashatile’s people and the man ensues, the man remains undeterred.
“You guys must leave. I don’t want to hear anything! Not tomorrow, now!”
Ahead of the altercation, Mashatile’s VIP bodyguards are seen running into the home, seconds before the screaming ensues.
Do you think the screaming man overreacted when dealing with the ANC deputy president and crew?
