Up-and-coming Lekompo star Rakgoale Nelly Machethe, who is more popularly known by her stage alias Shandesh, has social media users wondering whether her awkward interview at Tshwane FM was a result of the lack of proper media training or a classic case of an intellectual barrier.
South Africa is big when it comes to music, and has become somewhat of a hub where different but authentically South African sounds are exported to various parts of the world. Thanks to social media and other resources, genres such as our house, amapiano, maskandi and gqom have found their way to different parts of the world, and have proven that just like love, music is a universal language that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone.
Without a doubt, Lekompo has got up next, as the genre has escaped the small bubble in Limpopo where it originated, and has infiltrated the country and has taken Mzansi by storm, as artists such as Shebeshxt, Shandesh and Kharishma are emerging as some of the hottest artists out currently.
Recently, ‘Sdudla or slender’ hit-maker Shandesh paid the Tshwane FM family a visit for an interview, and the results are nothing like anyone was expecting, as users have gathered to decipher whether the awkward interview was a result of her lack of media training, or rather an issue with her intelligence. According to these users, the Lekompo star’s responses and overall demeanour and attitude towards her interviewers exposed that she did not really have a good grasp of the topic at hand.

Furthermore, fans have identified the trending practice of artists opting to appoint their close friends and family members as part of their management team despite their minimal knowledge of the role and the entertainment industry as the main culprit responsible for such an ordeal.
Although they acknowledge the lack of media training as a culprit of the result of the unfortunate interview, some users argue that the issue can be attributed to the artist’s level of intelligence, and chalk it up to Shandesh just not being the brightest crayon in the box, while others cannot help but wonder what brought about the unpleasant attitude towards the interviewer who handled the matter with much poise and proffessionalism.
Media training isn’t the problem. O bethile ke basic comprehension. https://t.co/QqOjakDc82

Shandesh doesn’t need media training, she needs to start reading a lot and also lose that ego. https://t.co/2KBKedn4ic
