Mtubatuba – The National Freedom Party has put politics aside by donating a bull to the family of late Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party leader Canaan Mdletshe. He died in a car crash last week after driving party members home from campaigning in Mtubatuba. Mdletshe left the NFP in August to join MK and was leading provincial communications.
Nongoma – King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has brought back his fired spokesperson Prince Afrika Zulu. The King signed papers on Thursday morning to return Prince Afrika to his duties. This comes as plans are underway to remove Prime Minister Buthelezi.
eShowe – The Pietermaritzburg High Court has given Sthembiso Nkosinathi Mthimkhulu, 38, six life sentences for killing six relatives in Eshowe in February 2021. He shot his uncle’s family, including two children aged 8 and 10, believing his uncle used witchcraft to kill another relative. Police caught him in Greytown where he went to see a traditional healer.
Port Shepstone – Hawks arrested Sergeant Ntokozo Mngqithi, 34, on corruption charges while he was already in jail for allegedly killing his fiancée, Sergeant Ntombi Mbanjwa. He’s accused of taking R30,000 from a truck driver involved in an accident that killed seven people. He allegedly promised to hide evidence in exchange for R60,000.
