Itumeleng Khune has placed a timeline on his playing career after leaving Kaizer Chiefs. Meanwhile, the club is chasing a quartet of midfielders.

Kaizer Chiefs legend Khune is like a fine wine

Now a partner at Top Bet, 37-year-old Itumeleng Khune is still determined to continue his career as a player. This is according to SoccerLaduma:

“There have been clubs which have inquired about him though nothing really came up and now his representatives are looking at offering him to clubs which could be looking at signing a top-class, experienced goalkeeper. As I have said, he still wants to play until at least 40 years of age. You know goalkeepers are like fine wine. They mature with age. That’s where he is now,” the Siya source stated.

Amakhosi want midfield reinforcement

According to SoccerLaduma, Amakhosi are closely following Puso Dithejane’s performance with TS Galaxy. The former academy product from Naturena has thrived in the number 10 role for Sead Ramovic’s side.

According to the same publication, Thato Khiba is also a wanted man. The 28-year-old TS Galaxy defender is a versatile operator and Orlando Pirates have registered an interest and are willing to loan players out in order to facilitate a deal in January. Carling Knockout holders Stellenbosch are also keen on the former Chiefs DDC player.

“For now, there are other clubs that have joined the race for his services. First, it was the Pirates who showed interest first, and then the Chiefs, followed by Stellenbosch FC, have also inquired about him,” a source told SoccerLaduma.

The South African’s to Siseko Gwegwe reports on Chiefs’ desire to land Stellies midfielder Sihle Nduli’s signature. Apparently he’s got a bit of Andrea Pirlo in him. Meanwhile, the club’s pursuit of Oswin Appollis has been a terribly-kept secret.

Amakhosi have a quintet of league matches remaining to close out what’s been an underwhelming 2024. After a strong start to the 2024-2024 campaign, Nabi’s men dropped valuable points in recent league encounters, losing 1-0 to SuperSport and only managing a 2-2 draw with new boys Magesi. That’s before they got unceremoniously dumped out of the Carling Knockout by Sundowns in a demoralising 4-0 defeat.
