Kenny Kunene hits back at EFF over ‘sadistic’ X post

Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy president Kenny Kunene says he is unfazed by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) threatening to report him to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) over his post about illegal miners.

On Sunday, Kunene took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an image of what appears to be two goats that have been slaughtered, skinned, and hung on hooks and suggested that this is the fate that awaits illegal miners in South Africa should his party come into power.

KENNY KUNENE RESPONDS TO EFF

The EFF said Kunene’s comments represent the lowest level of opportunism and are the hallmarks of “sadistic and pathological commitment to dehumanisation and an infatuation with genocide”.

The Red Berets said they are appalled that a government official, who is tasked with a major responsibility in the executive of the City of Johannesburg, has no regard for the rule of law and natural justice, and uses his platform to spew unadulterated hate.

“It is even more concerning that he expresses that the political party he leads, which already has representation in national government, will slaughter and skin human beings, showing no regard for the Constitution of South Africa, within which the right to life is enshrined.

“The EFF will therefore report Kenny Kunene to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) for his reckless comments, as they are a clear indication that he intends to contest electoral power in order to commit human rights violations and targeted killings and mutilations of human beings. Further to this, the EFF will approach the City of Johannesburg’s Ethics Committee to impose sanctions on Kenny Kunene who serves as a Councillor in the City and sits on the Executive,” EFF spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys said.

In response, Kunene said he is unfazed by the EFF’s “threat” to report him to the human rights commission because he was airing what is in his party’s manifesto.

“I am not fazed by Malema’s actions; he has shown us many times that he loves and protects illegal foreigners. These illegal foreigners who are mining our gold underground illegally, when they come out, they resurface like rats. They go and rape our young South Africans, and they also rob and murder South Africans.

“We saw in West Rand when they raped young girls who were trying to make a living. Julius Malema was nowhere to be seen. So, we are not fazed as the Patriotic Alliance; our stance is very clear that all illegal foreigners must be deported. Our position is very clear: illegal foreigners who steal the wealth of this country will be hanged,” he said.

Kunene added that they would unapologetically hang undocumented illegal miners when his party is in power.

“This wealth belongs to South Africans to pay for free education, to increase pensioners’ payout, and to build this country and its infrastructure…We know that Malema is an enemy of South Africans; he hates South Africans. We love South Africans, and we put them first,” he said.
