Controversial singer Kelly Khumalo has taken to her social media to reveal the not-so-glamorous reality of raising her son, who she shares with her abuser popular public figure Jub-Jub, born Molemo Maarohanye.

Following the revelation of the alleged details of fan favourite Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Miywa, Kelly Khumalo has faced an unimaginable amount of backlash and criticism. The public expressed their belief in the singer’s guilt and involvement in this unfortunate case, as the ordeal occurred in her home. This has resulted in Kelly being viewed as enemy number one and receiving backlash for anything she does.

Recently, the less favoured singer has used her social media to open up about the harsh realities of parenting in general, but specifically parenting her son, Christian, whom she shares with her just as controversial ‘baby daddy’ Jub-Jub. According to Kelly, this topic is not touched nearly enough as it should, as this requires a great deal of healing, to be able to provide that child that greatly resembles a person who brought so much pain and harm to you as a parent.

Kelly reveals that choosing to be a great mother and person to these children is no easy feat, but is a reality that a significant portion of women in South Africa experience.

“There’s one thing that we never talk about at all, especially as single moms—raising children or a child of a man who physically abused you, even more, so that child looks exactly like that person. How much of healing it takes, to raise a child and see that child for who they are, and not who their father is.”

Similarly to everything else Kelly has trended for as of late, this clip has garnered a negative response from internet users, as some urge Kelly to give Jub-Jub custody of the child and allow them to establish a relationship with each other. Others have come out to condemn Kelly’s choice to post such a video on the internet, where Christian will be able to see his mother utter such harmful words.
