Kefilwe Mabote burns her expensive bag
Kefilwe Mabote is once again making headlines after sharing a bold spiritual gesture involving yet another designer item.
The influencer and media personality set social media ablaze when she posted a video of herself burning a Christian Dior tote bag, months after she did the same with multiple Versace pieces earlier this year.
In January, Kefilwe publicly burned several Versace items featuring the Medusa logo, saying the act symbolised letting go of “idols” that had unknowingly taken root in her life.
This time, she explained that the luxury bag held deeper meaning beyond its price tag.
“That moment you realise the ‘gift’ was a gateway, a soul tie sitting pretty in your wardrobe. Burnt it like the altar of Baal. I refuse to carry spiritual baggage dressed as sentiment. If it wasn’t sealed in covenant, it has no place in my life,” she wrote on Instagram stories.
Despite her explanation, the act stirred up mixed reactions.
While some praised her conviction, others were quick to question the contradiction between denouncing material idolisation and continuing to share a lavish lifestyle online.
