Kaizer Chiefs are back in action this week after 25 days without competitive action due to the November FIFA International break.

The last time Amakhosi played a competitive match, they were thrashed 4-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-final. Their next fixture will be against Richards Bay on Wednesday, 27 November at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The game will be followed by another home fixture at the same venue when Amakhosi hosts another KwaZulu-Natal-based side, Royal AM, three days later.

Amakhosi will need to pick up maximum points from the two home games as they want to ensure that they collect as many points as possible and improve their position of the log standings.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is expected to be back in the dugout after missing last weekend’s Home of Legends friendly tournament. The Glamour Boys won the tournament after beating Lamontville Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Going to Polokwane, Kaizer Chiefs will be without defender Inacio Miguel, who picked up a red card in the last official game against Downs. Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari is doubtful and will need the medical team to assess him.

Kaizer Chiefs need a win this Wednesday

If the Rwandan international is not fit to play, Nabi might opt to field either Bruce Bvuma or Brandon Petersen in goals. Dillan Solomons, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Rushwin Dortley and Bradley Cross are expected to start in defence. The Tunisian coach might opt to start with Samkelo Zwane, Mduduzi Shabalala and Njabulo Blom in the middle of the park with Gaston Sirino and Wandile Duba on the wings.

Ranga Chivaviro is expected to start having scored a few goals this compaign. Wednesday’s game between Kaizer Chiefs and Richards Bay will kick off at 19:30 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
