Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Zungu, Mthethwa, Nduli

Today’s Kaizer Chiefs transfer news wrap looks at potential moves for Bongani Zungu and Sihle Nduli. There’s also an update on Sibongiseni ‘The Ox’ Mthethwa.

Inacio Miguel has a long way to go

New Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has endured a mixed start to his Amakhosi career. He’s been put straight into the first XI alongside fellow new boy Rushwin Dortley. However, the 28-year-old Angolan has already picked up two separate suspensions. One for an accumulation of yellows, and the most recent two-match ban as a result of a dismissal against Sundowns. Former Chiefs defender David Kannemeyer makes his assessment:

“He’s a good defender, but I think he should learn to keep his cool and be a bit calm when he’s playing,” Kannemeyer told FARPost.

Amakhosi to release Mthethwa?

The 30-year-old midfielder from Escourt, KwaZulu Natal, has not made any impression on coach Nasreddine Nabi. Without a single appearance on the bench this season, a source has told the Citizen that Kaizer Chiefs have released the former Stellenbosch FC star.

Amakhosi want the SA Pirlo

The South African’s to Siseko Gwegwe reports on Chiefs’ desire to land Stellies midfielder Sihle Nduli’s signature. Apparently he’s got a bit of Andrea Pirlo in him. Meanwhile, the club’s pursuit of Oswin Appollis has been a terribly-kept secret.

Zungu is a target

32-year-old Bongani Zungu is on Amakhosi’s wish list for Christmas. The former Amiens, Glasgow Rangers and Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder is a free agent.

“It’s true there has been interest in Bongani Zung by Chiefs, but there be a lot that has to change at Chiefs for them to then actually sign Zungu,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
