Cyprian club Aris Limassol are reportedly placed a price tag of R15 million for Mihlali Mayambela as Kaizer Chiefs are looking to bring the Bafana Bafana winger to Naturena.

The 28-year-old has expressed his desire to join Amakhosi in a recent interview. Mayambela’s contract with Limassol runs until 2026 but it looks Chiefs are pushing for a move.

Soccer Laduma reported that Aris Limassol demanded approximately R15 million from Kaizer Chiefs, and not R5 million that was previously stated.

Kaizer Chiefs told to pay R15 million for Mayambela

“I can tell you now that no team can refuse to pay R5 million for a player of Mihlali’s calibre. Have you seen the players the team has signed so far this season? And the amount they have paid? It’s around that R5 million for some of them and how could they fail to pay the same amount for an international Bafana Bafana player? So, Aris Limassol demanded around R15 million with one year left on the player’s contract. This is why the club felt that was too much hence it’s believed they put it on hold for now,” the source told Soccer Laduma.

The publication also reported that Kaizer Chiefs could look at signing Mayambela in January instead of paying R15 million now. In six months time, the winger could even sign a pre-contract with the Soweto giants.
