Kaizer Chiefs to take advantage of Pirates’ Champions League success?

Ironically, Kaizer Chiefs are about to benefit from Orlando Pirates Champions League semi-final berth.

The Buccaneers recently dismissed MC Alger to punch their ticket into the final four. Their next opponents? Fiston Mayele’s Pyramids FC.

The Congolese international, who bagged a brace in a feisty quarter-final clash against AS FAR, will travel to Soweto next week when they face Jose Riveiro’s side at AmaKhosi’s home ground, the FNB Stadium – free advertising.

Not only will this expose Mayele to Kaizer Chiefs mighty arena, but it also presents AmaKhosi with the opportunity to show their long-term target Naturena, a state-of-the-art training facility that will surely impress.

This could be enough to sway the former AS Simba striker, who has thirteen goals across all competitions this season.

Mayele interest confirmed

Pyramids are reportedly keen on selling Mayele this offseason before his contract expires next season, opening the door for Kaizer Chiefs.

“Chiefs have a great chance of signing Mayele this time around. It is believed that with his contract remaining with almost a year, they want to make some cash before he becomes a free agent,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“It’s apparently in the range between R12 million to R15 million and you know Chiefs’ last offer was around R14 million so it means they can now afford to sign him.”

In other news, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are in the race for Durban City winger Samkelo Maseko

“Both clubs have made contact with the player and (have been) referred to Durban City. It’s not clear the length of his contract with Durban City,” a KickOff source revealed.

Would Mayele be a good signing for Kaizer Chiefs?
