January transfer window is now open, meaning Kaizer Chiefs can officially start bolstering their squad again.
It is no secret that Chiefs are looking to add quality and experience to their squad ahead of the 2025.
Chiefs looking to strengthen their midfield
In the previous transfer window, Chiefs gave new coach Nasreddine Nabi seven new signings to start his tenure at Amakhosi. But it hasn’t quite worked out for the club, leading to the Tunisian mentor crying for top quality additions. Now with the window open again, the club top brass can begin to act on some of the transfer rumours.
According to the latest rumour, Chiefs have now been linked with Benin international midfielder Hassane Imourane. KickOff.com also cites, however, that they will face competition from Egyptian giants Zamalek.
“According to 229foot.com, Zamalek and Chiefs are interested in signing 21year-old star Hassane Imourane from Loto FC in the Benin top flight. Imourane, who has already made 15 appearances for his country, is considered to be one of the most highly rated talents in his nation, with Simba SC also reportedly keeping tabs on him. The report also claims that the deep-lying playmaker was offered to Zamalek by his representatives, and the Cairo outfit revealed that they would be open to his arrival.” Wrote the publication.
Imourane their latest target?
Imourane is the latest midfielder linked with Chiefs, after Feisal Salum, Thabo Cele, Sihle Nduli and Luke Le Roux. It then becomes apparent that Nabi is looking to strengthen the middle of the park for his side. He currently has captain Yusuf Maart, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Samkelo Zwane and an unfit Njabulo Blom to contend with. He unfortunately lost the services Venezuelan international Edson Castillo to a long-term injury. Another option in George Matlou has not featured in any match day squad thus far.
