Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing Tanzanian talent Feisal Salum.
The smiley midfielder is reportedly in talks with current club Azam FC over a new contract that would elevate him as one of the club’s highest earners, however, AmaKhosi management are prepared to match it.
“Feisal is an important player for Azam and they don’t want to lose him,” Soccer Laduma confirmed.
“They will offer him a new and improved contract that will make him one of the highest-paid players in the Tanzanian Premier League,
“It is believed that his new salary will be in the region of $12, 000 (approximately R222,000), but Chiefs can easily match or top this amount so it remains to be seen if Salum will accept this offer or if he will join Amakhosi or Simba in January.”
Velebayi to Chiefs?
Another star Kaizer Chiefs are pursuing is 21-year-old winger Asenele Velebayi, who was close to joining the Soweto outfit before the 2024/25 season.
“There was a lot of back and forth,” Velebayi’s agent Lance Davids confirmed.
“Kaizer Chiefs put in an offer, and the value was too low for Cape Town Spurs,
“Chiefs came back with a second offer and gave, in my opinion, a valuation that was very fair with add-ons, and they also didn’t accept that. They thought the valuation was low, and then they stopped just there.
“In my opinion, I thought the valuation that Cape Town Spurs was looking at for Velebayi, compared to Oswin Appollis, it’s a no-brainer – you can’t compare [the two players’ value]. At this point, what did Oswin achieved in the last year?
“So I think the valuation of Velebayi was crazy; I think Kaizer Chiefs, to be honest, was very fair on their proposal and, in my opinion, they could have still add some more add-ons.
“Of course, they did not because they thought they were also fair on their proposal, and the deal fell through… I’ll be honest, at first Cape Town Spurs wanted R12 million, they came down to R10 million, and Chiefs’ offer was R5 million plus players.”
