Kaizer Chiefs star SUSPENDED for two matches

Kaizer Chiefs will be without an influential defender for upcoming Betway Premiership matches against Richards Bay and Royal AM.

Miguel walked the plank against Sundowns

Inacio Miguel will miss Chiefs’ next two matches in the Betway Premiership according to SNL. The 28-year-old Angolan was handed a straight red card against Mamelodi Sundowns in the 56th minute of Amakhosi’s 4-0 hammering.

Msimango steps in for Miguel

Nasreddine Nabi’s team selections in the Betway Premiership make it obvious that his preferred central defensive pairing is Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel. The pair started Chiefs’ first four league matches together; Msimango started in the 2-2 draw against Magesi because of Miguel’s suspension for an accumulation of yellows. Now, after the Angolan’s latest two-match suspension after his dismissal against Sundowns in the Carling Knockout, Msimango gets another chance. Will he step up and take it? If he doesn’t, his days at Naturena could be numbered.

When are Kaizer Chiefs playing next?

It’s going to be a while. The Glamour Boys must wait until 27 November for their next match, against Richards Bay. Given Msimango should deputise for Miguel in the heart of defence for that match.

Five final fixtures for Chiefs in 2024

After a strong start, the Glamour Boys dropped valuable points in recent league encounters. They lost 1-0 to SuperSport and managed only a 2-2 draw with new boys Magesi. That’s before they got unceremoniously dumped out of the Carling Knockout by Sundowns in a demoralising 4-0 defeat.

Pressure on Nabi cranks up

The long wait for silverware at Kaizer Chiefs continues after their 0-4 hammering at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals. There’s a long beak until the Glamour Boys continue their Betway Premiership campaign; next up is the visit of Richards Bay on the 27th of November. Only five league encounters remain in the calendar year of 2024. The Amakhosi board haven’t exactly been shy to sack managers in recent seasons and the new manager could already be worrying about his job before the turn of the year.
