Kaizer Chiefs is one of the biggest clubs in South Africa, with an estimated 100 million fans, which include supporters from neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. The past few seasons have not been easy for the Soweto giants however it appears a new dawn is on the rise as things look to be coming together.

Similarly to any professional sports team, Kaizer Chiefs has experienced a few challenges in the past few seasons, whether it be on the pitch, with coaches trying to figure out the ideal squad with great chemistry, or with the higher ups who are in charging of making big decisions.

The team’s performance over the past few years has garnered concern from supporters and rivals alike, where some were concerned about the future of the club, claiming that they would never be able to return to their glory days.

Although the current season is still fresh, ‘Amakhosi’ have shown glimpses of the old Kaizer Chiefs that fans have come to know and love. The team is currently in sixth position in the league, however, their last few performances have revived a hope that was starting to die out in their loyal fanbase. Their recent 4-0 win against arguably the best team in Mzansi has added to their already growing confidence.

With the recent appointment of Nasreddine Nabi into the head coach position, who has reunited with Cedric Kazed fro his days in Morocco’s Young Africans club, and a few additions to the squad, the Glamour Boys look to have figured out the missing piece to the puzzle.
