Kaizer Chiefs raise offer for top striker – Big money signing!

Kaizer Chiefs have upped their pursuit of DRC goal-getter Fiston Mayele.

Nasreddine Nabi has been vocal about his want for more attacking threats, and it seems AmaKhosi management is willing to meet his needs, raising their initial bid from R15 million to R20 million.

Nabi knows Mayele’s attacking prowess well, having coached him during his stint at Yanga SC – now he wants the FC Pyramids player in Soweto.

“After the TS Galaxy game, there was the usual post-match meeting and that is when all the parties agreed that they have to go for Mayele again. That’s why (Chiefs) management and the board agreed that they would raise the bid for Mayele to R20m and hope Pyramids, who have been looking for between R22m to R25m, will be soft on them this time around,” a source confirmed.

Nabi wants strikers

“The coach [Nabi] has told management that they can fail to sign everyone else but not the striker,” a Soccer Laduma reported.

“Apparently, in the weekly match report, he told the technical team to prioritize a striker above all other signings. Signing a striker should have been the first priority even during the off-season. “Now, he has given them an ultimatum to sign a striker or else they should not expect miracles at all.”
