Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to bump up their bid to secure the services of Fiston Mayele.

Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has been crying out for a striker with his former player Mayele a top target.

Nabi and Mayele have worked together before

Nabi worked with Mayele while the pair were still at Yanga SC. While at the Tanzanian giants, they won a double treble together. The DRC international was also linked to Chiefs at the same time as the Tunisian mentor last season. But in the end, none of the moves materialised with the striker ending up at FC Pyramids and the coach at AS FAR

When Nabi eventually joined Chiefs at the beginning of the season, the rumours were in full flow again. In the end Mayele stayed put at Pyramids while his former coach still continues to cry for a lethal finisher. There were reports of a R15 million bid for the player during the previous window. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi have stumped it up to R20 million!

Chiefs ready to offer R20 million for him!

“After the TS Galaxy game, there was the usual post match meeting and that is when all the parties agreed that they have to go for Mayele again. That’s why (Chiefs) management and the board agreed that they would raise the bid for Mayele to R20m and hope Pyramids, who have been looking for between R22m to R25m, will be soft on them this time around,” said one source on the topic.

It has also been suggested that Chiefs will continue to pursue other alternatives to Mayele. The message is clear though, the likes of Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley du Preez are not inspiring confidence. The duo have scored four and three goals each in all competitions so far this season. Amakhosi fans, how much do you want to see Mayele signing for the club? Or which other striker would you prefer. Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
