Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have both been incredibly busy in the current transfer market making several signings.

Chiefs have made six signings at the moment, while Pirates have made nine with others agreed and set for announcements.

Chiefs and Pirates heavily in the market

On the Amakhosi side, they have announced Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane and Siphesihle Ndlovu. Pirates have confirmed Sipho Mbule, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli,Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. They also dropped the bomb of Oswin Appollis while they’re yet to announce the signing of Malian midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko.

It is not expected to be the end of the transfer business for neither of the Soweto Giants, however. According to FARPost, in fact, both Chiefs and Pirates are interested in recently released Mamelodi Sundowns star Lebohang Maboe

Both interested in ex-Sundowns star Maboe

“Other clubs reportedly vying for Maboe’s signature include Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, as well as Sekhukhune United. Babina Noko had previously expressed interest in the midfielder before his loan move to SuperSport. For Amakhosi, the interest comes amidst significant squad changes, with captain Yusuf Maart’s move to Austria reportedly imminent and Edson Castillo already released.” Wrote the publication.

So are Durban City and Sekhukhune

The other clubs who will be competing with Chiefs and Pirates Maboe are Durban City and Sekhukhune United. The midfielder formally played for City but while they were still called Maritzburg United. While at Babina Noko, he could find himself joining an ambitious group of players who finished fourth last season.

Looking at Maboe’s future prospects at Pirates, the picture looks grimmer. The Buccaneers already have so many top midfielder from last season alone. They then went on to add Nduli, Nemtajela, Kwayiba, Mbule and Mariko. So City, Sekhukhune and Chiefs could offer more game time.
