Kaizer Chiefs not giving up on signing Bafana Bafana midfielder!

Kaizer Chiefs are set to continue their rebuilding project under coach Nasreddine Nabi in the next transfer window.

Nabi has lamented he won’t return the Chiefs glory days over night, asking for trust in the process.

Chiefs made 10 signings at the start of the season

The first part of that process was laid as a foundation over the two transfer window’s afforded to him this season. Chiefs backed Nabi with 10 signings, but also cleared some high profile deadwood before his arrival. The likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Itumeleng Khune, Siyethemba Sithebe and Njabulo Ngcobo were axed. The Tunisian then signed seven new players in his first window. Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Gaston Sirino, Bradley Cross, Inacio Miguel and Njabulo Blom.

After that group failed to really push the Chiefs squad to new heights, Nabi was allowed to add three more. In the January transfer window, it was clear that experience was going to be the order of the day. The club went on to sign Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo. One of the revelations of that previous window was Cele. A natural box-to-box player, he has come in and played multiple roles in their midfield.

Le Roux their next target

As fantastic as Cele has been, it’s though his true ability won’t be unlocked until a natural six is signed. Subsequently, it’s believed that Chiefs are again, pursuing Bafana Bafana midfielder Luke le Roux as per Soccer-Laduma!

“What the club (Chiefs) has decided on their recruitment policy is to try and sign as much players as possible who are not in demand from their local rivals. On many occasions when they are competing with other local teams they end up not signing those players. Now that’s why they have reignited the pursuit of Luke Le Roux. He is a South African but currently playing in Europe and they believe they stand a better chance of signing him,” said the source.

Would he be a good midfield partner to Cele?
