Kaizer Chiefs new signing is becoming a troublemaker

Kaizer Chiefs have a lot on their plate.

Seven new signings entered AmaKhosi’s facilities during the winter, providing hope to a troubled fanbase that had just experienced the club’s worst season in history.

They were flying high two games into the PSL season, beating Gallants 2-1 and AmaZulu 3-1 before losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in controversial style.

The Glamour Boys bounced back with an impressive 4-0 victory over SuperSport United in the Telkom Cup but lost to them a week later in the PSL, making it back-to-back losses.

Soweto’s yellow pride are eighth on the log, fourteen points behind Orlando Pirates and eleven back from Mamelodi Sundowns.

A bad boy is emerging

Angolan international Inacio Miguel has featured in every game he’s been eligible for, collecting four yellows and one red card in his first six games, leading to two-game suspensions.

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender David Kannemeyer had his saying on the situation, saying, “He’s a good defender, but I think he should learn to keep his cool and be a bit calm when he’s playing,

“I think it’s frustration, but as a leader and being a captain, sometimes he’s doing well in that field.

“Well [bookings] happen in football, if things are not going well you end up, doing those wrong actions. Those actions come with consequences that may haunt the team. If he corrects that, get less bookings, Miguel will improve his game without a doubt.”

Velebayi to Chiefs?

Asanele Velebayi is on the top of Nasreddine Nabi’s Christmas wish list. They were close to signing the Cape Town winger but nothing ever materialised.

“Chiefs came back with a second offer and gave, in my opinion, a valuation that was very fair with add-ons, and they also didn’t accept that. They thought the valuation was low, and then they stopped just there,” Velebayi’s agent Lance David’s said.

“In my opinion, I thought the valuation that Cape Town Spurs was looking at for Velebayi, compared to Oswin Appollis, it’s a no-brainer – you can’t compare [the two players’ value]. At this point, what did Oswin achieved in the last year?

“So I think the valuation of Velebayi was crazy; I think Chiefs, to be honest, was very fair on their proposal and, in my opinion, they could have still add some more add-ons.

“Of course, they did not because they thought they were also fair on their proposal, and the deal fell through… I’ll be honest, at first Cape Town Spurs wanted R12 million, they came down to R10 million, and Chiefs’ offer was R5 million plus players.”

Do you think Kaizer Chiefs have a problem with Inacio?
