Kaizer Chiefs interest Nigeria goalkeeper

Chippa United and Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has confessed that he really wants to play for Kaizer Chiefs.

Nwabali was heavily linked with a possible move to Chiefs towards the end of the season and before the new campaign.

This was after his stellar performances for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament earlier this year.

However, Chiefs instead went for Rwanda international goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari whom they signed from TS Galaxy.

Now, Nwabali admitted that while he wouldn’t say he supported Chiefs, his desire is to play for them.

Nonetheless, Nwabali believes Ntwari is doing well for Chiefs since joining them from the Rockets.

The 25-year-old has featured in eight competitive matches for Chiefs this season and kept a single cleansheet.

In those eight matches, Ntwari has conceded a whopping 10 goals, including seven in the league.

KAIZER CHIEFS INTEREST STANLEY NWABALI

“To be honest, Kaizer Chiefs is one of the clubs I really want to play for. This is the club I want to play for in South Africa. Kaizer Chiefs are one of the teams I want to play for, with all my heart,” said Nwabali on Sports Night Amplified on Metro FM as per The Citizen.

“I won’t say I have been supporting them but this is the club I felt like I want to play for,” added the Super Eagles goalkeeper.

“Yeah, and I’m not talking about now. Even before the new coach came in [I wanted to join Chiefs].

To be quite honest, the Rwanda guy (Fiacre Ntwari) is doing well with the club, I wouldn’t take that away from him,” added Nwabali.
