Kaizer Chiefs maybe about to pull the plug on one their new signings halfway through his first season.

This could also see Chiefs go back to sign a player that they reportedly rejected during the previous window.

Chiefs signed Ntwari at the beginning of the season

During that previous window, Chiefs signed seven players in the hope of rejuvenating the squad ahead of the new season. Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel , Gaston Sirino, Bradley Cross and Njabulo Blom. But that seems to have not proven to be enough as the team find themselves in 9th position with just three wins from nine games.

One of their big problems last season was a leaky defence. That was not aided by the uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeping situation. Captain Itumeleng Khune was punished for indiscipline while both Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Pietersen failed to convince. When they failed to take their opportunity Chiefs then went and signed Ntwari. The Rwandan international has also not convinced and has lost his place in the team.

Now Nwabali could replace him in January

Now this publication recently reported that Chiefs could be ready to go back in to sign Nwabali. According to Soccer-Laduma, that could be at the expense of Ntwari!

“Don’t rule out the possibility of a swap deal for Chiefs and Chippa for Ntwari and Nwabali. That’s what is being bandied about as Chiefs look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. The two clubs are expected to discuss a potential deal in January,” said a source to the same publication.

Chiefs fans would it be the right move to pull the plug on Ntwari already? Or should both he and Nwabali compete at Chiefs with another keeper sacrificed? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
