Kaizer Chiefs’ chances of signing long-term target Fiston Mayele just got a whole lot better.

According to reports, Pyramids is keen on offloading the Congolese international before his contract expires next year. Mayele has been pivotal to the Egyptian giant’s Champions League success, bagging a quarter-final brace against AS FAR.

“Chiefs have a great chance of signing Mayele this time around. It is believed that with his contract remaining with almost a year, they want to make some cash before he becomes a free agent,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“It’s apparently in the range between R12 million to R15 million and you know Chiefs’ last offer was around R14 million so it means they can now afford to sign him.”

The 30-year-old will get a taste of Soweto – and Kaizer Chiefs’ home stadium – when his side faces Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium next week.

R10 million bid

Kaizer Chiefs are preparing to table a R10 million bid for Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya.

“They have looked at different right backs and it’s believed they apparently want to settle for Lwandile [Mabuya] and that’s why they are believed to be preparing a R10 million offer to table to Richards Bay,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They are valuing the player so they are preparing a substantial offer which they believe can convince Richards Bay as well. This will be a good offer considering how they bought other players before.”
