Kaizer Chiefs fans were brought back to reality following a 4-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
The defeat sees Amakhosi exit the competition in the quarter-final stages. Two goals from Iqraam Rayners and one from Peter Shalulile and Khuliso Mudau were enough to see the Brazilians walk away 4-0 winners in Soweto.
Having narrowly lost 2-1 to Sundowns in September, Kaizer Chiefs fans were hoping to finally avenge their loss and get a rare win over their rivals. After 14 minutes, Downs were already upfront and from there on, the writing was on the wall for Nasreddine Nabi’s men.
Sundowns give Kaizer Chiefs their biggest loss of the season
After Chiefs suffered another defeat to Masandawana, fans reacted to the club’s loss on X(Twitter). The Glamour Boys lost 5-1 to the Brazilians in May and when Manqoba Mngqithi’s men scored their second goal, some Khosi fans had flashbacks.

Can Nabi turn the ship around?
