Kaizer Chiefs eyeing Durban maestro!

Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring Durban City’s Athini Jodwana.

The 31-year-old playmaker has been remarkable in City’s dominating, top-of-the-table season, sitting eight points clear of next-best Kruger United.

Jodwana is no stranger to top-flight football, having played for Chippa United between 2020 and 2022. According to reports, the former Chilli Boy is a serious consideration for the offseason transfer market.

“He is one of the local players that they have been monitoring.” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They are exploring all the possibilities as they may not sign some of the desired and wanted players. But he is also a very good midfielder with experience having played for Chippa United before.

“So as much as they have enquired about him, they are still believed to be looking at finalising the shopping list for next season and Athini Jodwana is one of them,” the source confirmed.

Mayele latest

Kaizer Chiefs have another roadblock in their pursuit for Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele.

“They are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him. So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well,” Soccer Laduma reported.

Another source confirmed that, “Whether Pryamids are offering him a new two-year deal or not, Chiefs have made him their top target for next season after failing to sign him this season. So, although it’s believed that his team are offering him a new deal, Chiefs are still interested in signing him,” said second source.

Will Nabi remain as Kaizer Chiefs manager for next season?
