Kaizer Chiefs coach makes Sirino revelation,PSL teams should be very worried

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says star player Gaston Sirino was not 100% fit during Saturday’s 4-0 win against SuperSport United.

The 33-year-old winger scored and created a goal as his side progressed to the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup. The Uruguayan has been Amakhosi’s best player since he joined the club in August. After spending six years with Mamelodi Sundowns, Sirino’s contract was not renewed leaving Kaizer Chiefs to pounce.

So far, Amakhosi appears to have made the best signing of the season. Speaking after the 4-0 win, Nabi gave credit to another new signing which is goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari.

“It’s a good thing, It is a good victory, but we have to congratulate Fiacre because he made some saves to allow us to get back to the game.

“In those critical moments, he showed up. But it is the work of the entire team, all the players who were on the pitch,” he said.

Sirino continues to inspire Kaizer Chiefs

Nabi revealed that Sirino was not 100% fit during the game against Matsatsantsa. The star scored the opening game and was one of the best players on the pitch.

“It is true that Sirino has helped us today, and we thank him for that,” the Chiefs coach added.

“But today he was not at his maximum fitness. He is coming from an injury, he hasn’t trained much in the last few days.

“We know when he gets back to his full capacity, you will see more of him. And we know that the younger players can learn a lot from him,” he said.

“I don’t think that in the overall 90 minutes, we had a good performance because there were moments where we allowed the opponents to get wide balls, to get crosses. But, with a cup game you don’t play it, you just need to win it because it’s a cup game,” Nabi concluded.

If Sirino was playing for Kaizer Chiefs with 50% of his powers, imagine if the Uruguan can stay fully fit the whole season. Most PSL teams will not want to face a fully fit Sirino.

Can Sirino score 15 goals this season?
