Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has indicated that the club needs to go back to the transfer market.
Despite bringing in seven new players, Amakhosi are still nine points behind Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. After nine matches played, Nabi’s side sits ninth in the Betway Premiership with just three wins.
On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs earned their third draw against TS Galaxy which annoyed many fans.
“We feel that we didn’t start well. The first 15-20 minutes, we were losing every ball, easy passes were lost, and all the duels were won by the opponent, which was very difficult for us,” Nabi added.
Kaizer Chiefs have conceded 13 goals this season
“We tried to make, around the 20-25th minute, a tactical adjustment, a slight change. Then we came back really good, but we conceded goals on set pieces, where we felt we were starting to come back into the game with more control and commitment,” he said.
Since arriving at Kaizer Chiefs, Nabi has influenced the team’s style of play. Despite their attacking flair, Amakhosi have conceded 13 goals already and only kept one clean sheet in the league
“In the second half, we tried to push forward. Again, we were missing opportunities to score.”
“At the end, we tried everything to put more power and more risk forward,” Nabi added.
“Fortunately, we got the point, but we feel that we are very, very far from the level of a team like Kaizer Chiefs.”
“We need to work hard, we need to strengthen the team, but we’re going to do everything we can for the future games,” he concluded.
