Kaizer Chiefs have been boosted by the ‘return’ of South American duo of Gaston Sirino and Edson Castillo.
Sirino has been out with a broken rib injury since Amakhosi’s 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City.
And while there had been reports of him misbehaving at the club, none of them were proven to be true.
Castillo, on the other hand, has been nursing a broken fibula since October when Chiefs lost 1-0 to SuperSport United.
At the time, the club’s medical doctors predicted that he would be out for four to five months.
However, the 30-year-old midfielder appears to be ahead of schedule as he has begun to jog with his boots on.
KAIZER CHIEFS DUO’S RETURN IMMINENT
On Thursday, Chiefs had an open media day ahead of their Sunday league game against Sekhukhune United.
And on the day, both Sirino and Castillo were present at the training grounds in Naturena Village.
However, they have still not fully recovered from their respective injuries to be able to feature on Saturday.
Sirino, though, isn’t far off from his return to Nasreddine Nabi’s team as he trained with the rest of his Chiefs teammates.
And peharps the Chiefs technical team is looking to have Sirino back in the team for the almost sold-out Soweto Derby on February 1.
Their return could well help strengthen Chiefs who are blowing hot and cold so far this season.
