The Zulu nation along with the rest of South Africa has expressed deep concern for the current monarch of the Zulu kingdom King Misuzulu kaZwelithini following various breaking news regarding his professional and personal affairs.

Following King Zwelithini’s unfortunate passing in 2021, his son, King Misuzulu has since taken over the reigns to attempt to fill the great void and legacy his father left behind. His short reign has been riddled with plenty of controversy and doubt as the Zulu nation appears to be unsure of his ability to further empower the great Zulu nation in the same way his father did.

This year’s concern was initially sparked when news broke that the monarch and his wife queen Ntokozo KaMayisela Zulu were headed for divorce. The news came as a complete to the country as this is an unorthodox and taboo occurrence for a man of his stature and calibre. As if this was not enough, it was then revealed that amid the divorce spectacle, the king is set to take a third wife in Nomzamo Myeni and had scheduled a two-day ceremony to take place at the end of this month.

Queen Ntokozo then said not on her watch and took matters to court to interdict the wedding set to take place, citing the fact that although the king had served her with divorce papers, his marriage to her still stood thus making him unable to wed his fiance Nomzamo.

In a surprising turn of events, it is reported that the king, who has been affectionately dubbed as ‘Bayede dawg’ has called his wedding to Nomzamo has been called off and has further called for the immediate ceasing of any benefits that she had been awarded, including her security detail.

The news has raised eyebrows from the public, as it has also been revealed that the king has relieved Prince Simphiwe Zulu kaMinyamanzi of his duties as his spokesperson, citing the Prince’s neglecting of his duties as well as withholding crucial information from the Ingonyama Trust Board.

This has caused much speculation regarding a possible sinister truth behind the king’s recent movements and decision-making. Furthermore, it has also led to some considering the fact that Prince Simakade would’ve been a more suitable candidate for the throne, as the current king seems to be doing his level best to tarnish what’s left of the Zulu kingdom’s power and reputation.
