Wanda and Sindiswa Mbele, the two siblings who allegedly orchestrated the murder Noem My Skollie actor David Manuel for insurance purposes, pleaded with Sport, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie to come to their aid and grant the actor a decent funeral.

The two siblings who reportedly pocketed over R100 000 in insurance payouts appeared in court on Wednesday, 27 November, for their bail application.

NOEM MY SKOLLIE ACTOR MURDERED FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES?

David Manuel, the actor who starred inNoem My Skollie‘ played the role of a 28s prison gang leader, Freddy Gums, in the 2016 South African film that took the nation by storm, was tragically killed on 8 October in Gugulethu, Cape Town alongside his friend Alfonso Fisher.

Following Manuel’s passing, Wanda, who said he was a concerned neighbour, wrote to McKenzie begging McKenzie to grant the late actor a decent funeral as he had nothing to his name.

“This is now a plea to the minister to assist with a helping hand so that we can bury the star in a rather decent manner, as he has nothing under his name. As a community, we are on our knees and asking for assistance in this matter at hand,” he wrote in an email.

In one of the conversations on WhatsApp, the two siblings discussed how much they stand to benefit from insurance. Wanda even told Sindiswa he was uneasy about the fact that the victims would have to die.

The state is opposing bail and is adamant that the two misrepresented themselves when taking out life insurance for Manuel.
