Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez said he was not looking to prove anything to Nasreddine Nabi after featuring in the Carling PSL All Stars team.

The former Stellenbosch FC star was in the All Stars team for the second successive time. This time, the All Stars defeated Magesi 3-0 to win Carling Black Label Cup back-to-back this past weekend.

“It’s a different competition, it’s outside the club,” Du Preez said before the match.

“Whatever happens, happens. I’m not here to prove anything to the coach at Chiefs.”

Du Preez has scored two goals for Kaizer Chiefs this season

“For me it’s just to come here and enjoy. It’s something different to the club level in the Carling Black Label.

“For me as a player, it’s just to go out there to enjoy and do the best. The result will care of itself.”

Since Nabi took over as Kaizer Chiefs coach, the Tunisian has opted to play Ranga Chivaviro as the main striker. Du Preez has mostly appeared from the bench but struggled to make any impact in the first six matches.

The ex-Stellies star though has started the last four matches for Amakhosi scoring twice. Kaizer Chiefs are in action this Sunday against Chippa United.

Who should start for Chiefs? Ranga or Du Preez?
