This is rare in football. A former Kaizer Chiefs supporter has given his reasons for leaving Amakhosi in favour of Mamelodi Sundowns.

WHY I LEFT KAIZER CHIEFS FOR MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Speaking to Goal’s Lerato Mkhondo after the Glamour Boys lost 4-0 to Kabo Yellow in the Carling Knockout quarterfinals, a supporter from Mpumalanga said he stopped following Kaizer Chiefs after the club’s former Team Manager Bobby Motaung famously said the club is a family business.

“I was a Chiefs supporter my whole life,” he said. “I changed the day that Bobby said Kaizer Chiefs is a family business. Until they shut us out. Since I became a Sundowns fan, my complexion has been good, and my businesses are doing fine.

“Wherever Sundowns play, I go everywhere. I am a landscaper. I travel from Zeerust. I am from Mpumalanga. I represent the Witbank branch, ” the unnamed fan concluded.
